Our goal, first and foremost, is to ensure that each puppy is a great fit for his or her new home and that you, as a potential buyer, are as prepared and informed as possible to set both you and your new puppy up for success! The puppy placement questionnaire that we have developed is the preliminary step to begin this process, but there are some important, NON-NEGOTIABLE items to cover prior to completing and sending the questionnaire.
- We accept completed questionnaires and deposits throughout the year. If we do not have current puppies on site, the deposit will be applied to our next available litter.
- Potential buyers do not get to choose their puppy out of the entire litter. We spend countless hours evaluating our puppies and learning about their personalities, characteristics, how they interact with each other, with people, and with the livestock. This does not mean that the buyer will not get any choice, but that we will likely recommend picking between two or three puppies that fits the criteria of what the buyer is looking for and what we believe to be a suitable match. It is our desire to place puppies in homes where they will excel and thrive with each of their unique personalities. It is impossible for a buyer to distinguish their characteristics from photos, videos, or a brief farm visit so we help buyers get to know the true nature of the puppy.
- Puppy assignments are typically made between 7-9 weeks of age. After a thorough vet exam upon which we assess each puppy individually for health and conformation, we begin to narrow down which puppies will be going to breeding vs. guardian vs. companion homes. There is no point in inquiring about potential placements before 7 weeks as we will not have that established.
- Puppy placements are assigned in order of deposit received. However, breeding contracts get first priority. Hence, a buyer that wants a breeding contract may place a deposit AFTER a buyer that wants a spay/neuter contract but the breeding contract will move ahead in placement before the other buyer. This is to ensure that the highest quality puppies will go to breeding homes.
- Buyers must have AND SHOW PROOF of secure fencing prior to questionnaire approval. Photos of fencing may be emailed or texted.
- After the completed questionnaire is received and approved, a puppy purchase agreement will be sent via email to the buyer for review and a $300 non-refundable deposit will reserve the puppy. The contract must have an ORIGINAL handwritten signature to be valid. Both buyer and breeder will have a complete, signed copy.
